The city of Bangkok will suffer the same fate as Amsterdam within the next 100 years. Because of it's location close to the Gulf of Thailand and along the Chao Phraya, the city area will be flooded once the level of the sea rises, which is inevictible. To prevent the infrastructure from overflooding and to guarantee sufficient capacity for the growing population there are enormous mass transit projects throughout the city. Like this one, the Bang Sue Rangsit line extension, it will feature trainlines and highways on multiple levels. I discovered it on a bus while driving on a flyover, the grey cubes were visible from kilometers. Once I finally got there it felt somehow dystopic, I thought I am on a construction site for a spaceship when I walked in between the concrete pillars.
